Pelvic
Playshops
I
offer two Pelvic Playshops that are the culmination of my
10+ years as a Pilates trainer, supporting clients in postural
realignment and core engagement. Using Pilates as a foundation,
I then blend my 25+ years as an intuitive and journey guide
to create a spacious healing container where profound inner-explorations
take place. In an intimate setting, these playshops explore
different dynamics of conscious embodiment in the pelvis
and it's energetic connection to well-being.
One
is geared towards women, the other is for men and women,
both are fully-clothed experiences.
• Psoas As You Like it: Back and Pelvic Self-Care
Made Easy
The psoas are the most remarkable muscles of human movement,
connecting upper and lower, front to back, right to left,
physical to emotional. Many of us have old traumas locked
in our core and/or participate in activities that habitually
contract the psoas/hip flexors, leading to chronic imbalances.
In this all-day, deeply inward intensive, you will learn
to identify, release, balance and tone these primary postural
muscles, learning simple practices you can take home with
you.
•
Posture, Pleasure and Power: A Journey Into the Pelvis for
Women - next playshop TBA
In this day-long gathering of the feminine, we
will explore our energetic and physical embodiment via the
pelvis, its relationship to core-strengthening and overall
vitality. In an intimate, supportive atmosphere, we will
deepen in appreciation of our inner landscape, learning
to engage and delight in the mysteries “down there”!
Exercises and practices designed to activate core energetics
and pelvic tone will be covered. The day also includes an
introductory session of Gyrokinesis®, a sophisticated
and fluid form of core-strengthening.

I
was 5 months postpartum with my second child when I attended
Joy’s Posture Pleasure and
Power playshop and I found it to be incredible. She creates
an environment that feels safe, fun
and empowering. I connected muscularly and energetically
to my pelvis and I realized that my
pelvic floor weakness was more than just physical- it was
emotional too. This helped my healing
take on a new and more powerful meaning. Today I am feeling
stronger, lighter and in love
with my pelvic region. ~ Avril Betoushana, Ashland,
